Project Overview/Background
- Mobile device manufacturers and application developers are releasing new devices and apps at a fast pace. Analysis of mobile vulnerabilities and malware, and testing of new vulnerability discovery and anti-malware detection and mitigation techniques across a wide variety of configurations have become increasingly complex.
- This project aims to develop software tools to aid in the testing and analysis of vulnerabilities and malware, as well as emerging vulnerability discovery and anti-malware techniques across different Android and iOS device models, OS versions and applications.
Scope & Deliverables
Develop techniques and software tools to:
- Simulate user activity that may trigger vulnerabilities or malicious activity
- Detect abnormal or malicious events on the device
- Automate analysis of such events and highlight critical issues for deeper analysis
Prerequisites/Skills Required
- Strong interest in mobile device security
- Basic Python and C/C++ Programming
- Experience in mobile application development would be an advantage
- Applicant should indicate preference for Android or iOS (if any)
